3. Everyone Else Is Racing For Second, Maybe Forever: The Unstoppable Greatness Of Usain Bolt

http://www.slate.com/blogs/five_ring_circus/2012/08/05/usain_bolt_2012_olympics_the_world_s_fastest_man_dominates_in_london_why_did_we_ever_doubt_him_.html

The editor of  Columbia Journalism Review, Justin Peters starts his article explaning how people started to doubt Bolt's capability to win the gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics. He gives off many negative attributes of Bolt's running in previous years which made people doubt that he would win the gold medal. Right then Peters twist the article explaining that Bolt proved everyone wrong by first going to the finals and second achieving the gold medal. In the article Peters shows how Bolt is cocky and doesn't work as much as the other athletes do and many think the sporting gods punished him for this kind of attitude. But all this punishment didn't seem to get in Bolt's way because Peters shows this comparison between Phelps and Bolt. He explains how greatness does not determine whether you work hard or practice daily, he simply shows that Boltis better than everyone else. And Peters ends the article with an amazing quote " But when your going up against greatness, your best will never be good enough."

Peters purpose in this article was to prove to all that even with negative performances in previous years Bolt is still the world's best sprinter. This all explains the article's title, maybe sprinters will have to achieve the second place because no one will ever surpass Bolt. Peters want to show that even with practice and hard work it will never overcome greatness. Greatness is what comes with oneself and not through any hardwork. Peters objective is to kind of question people, will someone ever beat the greatest sprinter of all time Usain Bolt?
