3. America's Megawatt Sweetheart

Gabby Douglas winning the gold medal in all-around gymnastics has changed her life. Juliet Macur talked about how Gabby has influenced thousands of African American girls in the states with her accomplishment in the 2012 Olympics in London. Douglas said that all of this fame has not even hit her yet. Macur stated that Douglas was just walking on the streets one day and when a fan asked for a picture of her she was taken by surprise. Macur also mentions that Douglas had to wrk extremely hard to get to where she is at. She even had to move to a different state to train seriously. However Douglas's  mother, Natalie Hawkins, is happy with the decision she made. Macur even shows the reader how obtains the top sponsors for Douglas will not be a difficult thing to do especially with her charisma and fun personality. Macur continues on by stating something by Bob Williams, chief executive of Burns Entertainment and Sports Marketing, on how she will at least have a seven-figure endorsement. Money will no longer be an issue for the single mom.

Juliet Macur was able to gather important information from various types of people. The reason Macur wrote this article was to show the reader how Gabby has touched so many people with what she was able to do and how it was not an easy road to get to. But with her accomplishment Douglas still has a lot more in her to show. MAcur showed us that she will just have tot learn how to handle all these distractions. Douglas still has two more events before returning to her country.
